July 10-15, 2026 with Lower Left Artist Andrew Wass
Ensemble Thinking™ is a shared performance practice where attention, movement, and relation meet. In this workshop, improvisation is treated as both awareness and creation—a state of mindful mindlessness. Through simple scores, participants learn to notice what is already present: touch, timing, space, weight, and choice. Physical practices from Contact Improvisation are combined with Ensemble Thinking performance concepts to expand sensory perception and collective action. By naming how we create and what we observe, the group builds clarity and trust, allowing movement to unfold and the unknown to be entered together. The work invites curiosity, challenges fixed aesthetics, and supports the growth of artistic and social community.
The Festival will take place 10-15 of July 2026 at Solvikskolan, a Waldorf School and Anthroposophic Center in Ytterjärna, Sweden, 50km south of Stockholm near the sea. We will dance in beautiful unique studios and be surrounded by Swedish idyllic summer surroundings. Besides dance, bodywork, nature and sea dips we will share three beautiful organic meals a day, snacks and tea in the evenings.
